AROUND 100 guests celebrated the success of a Telford company while also boosting funds for two vital charities.
A thank you party for colleagues and friends of RMP Guarding was held at Dawley British Legion Club on Friday November 26 in celebration of being recognised under an industry quality assurance scheme.
RMP Guarding has become an approved contractor within the Security Industry Authority’s Approved Contractor Scheme.
Two special presentations were also made on the night by RMP Guarding managing director Trevor Bate, one £1,000 donation to the Wrekin Lions and one of £1,000 to the Royal British Legion.
Trevor said: “As a local businessman, it’s hugely important to me to support these brilliant local groups. As the company has grown we have wanted to give back to our community and make a difference.
RMP Guarding provides security for major events including Glastonbury and V Festival as well as food festivals, steam rallies and many other events. They also provide manned guarding and mobile patrols for companies and large organisations, including Telford & Wrekin Council and Bridgnorth Town Council.
Trevor has invested on upgrading the new premises to include offices, a new CCTV control room with state of the art equipment and a training headquarters where staff and other security companies can be trained, and a brand new fully fitted garage facility offering the public servicing and repairs at a realistic price.
John White from the Royal British Legion said: “We’d like to say a massive thank you to Trevor and all at RMP Guarding for their fantastic support. Unlike other charities we support the dependants of servicemen and women and we are very grateful for the RMP Guarding donation which will help us continue to offer our help where it’s needed most. We are proud of all the hard work that goes into fundraising and have raised more than £40,000.”
Leica Ferriday, president of Wrekin Lions, said after the presentation: “This is wonderful, thank you. We like to use money raised locally and this donation will go a long way.”
RMP Guarding has a long association with the Wrekin Lions and has been delighted to forge links with the Royal British Legion, recently providing secure vehicles for poppy sellers’ takings before this year’s Remembrance Day and Trevor said he was proud to be able to call John a good friend.
Guests at the party included RMP Guarding staff, contractors and suppliers who enjoyed a hog roast and a disco provided by 200% Sound International.
