“People always ask me where my favorite place was and I always answer it in exactly the same way – all of them for all sorts of reasons, ” said Joe, who hopes his experience will stand him in good stead as he now prepares to attract travellers to this corner of the world.
The 35-year-old is originally from Kent, but now lives in Halesowen, having fallen in love with the Midlands whilst on a six month’s secondment almost a decade ago.
“By the time it was over, I’d grown to really like the Midlands, and I didn’t want to move back to London,” he explained.
Joe’s previous jobs have included working for Marketing Birmingham, as well as the Intercontinental hotel chain.
“There is nothing like travel to broaden the mind – I certainly found it fantastic - and I hope to help bring lots more travellers to this region in my new role,” added Joe.
“The Midlands has got loads to offer, both in terms of people travelling for business
and for pleasure, and I can’t wait to start showing people what is going on here.
“We have extensive conference facilities at Park Inn, and a great central location for business people, and also offer some brilliant family packages, which include an overnight stay and visit to some of the area’s best attractions, such as Cadbury World, West Midlands Safari Park and the Black Country Museum.”
General manager of the Park Inn Hotel, Birmingham West, Adrian Pickard, said he was delighted to have Joe on the team, and feels he has lots to bring to the role.
“Joe has the kind of experience we were really looking for in this role – which he has accumulated both through work and travel, and I am glad he feels settled in the Midlands now as I am looking forward to him becoming an important member of our team,” he said.
