ASPIRING and established businesswomen will be shown how social media can boost their bottom line at a
major conference to be held in Birmingham next week.
The event, to be held at
The Pavilion in Moor Lane, Perry Barr, includes an interactive workshop, led by experts from the
Connect Culture initiative, based at Coventry University, on social networking phenomenon Twitter, plus blogging for business.
Other sessions at the event on Friday, June 19, will cover access to finance, how to get the best out of networking, marketing and cold calling.
Backed by
Business Link West Midlands, the
Women’s Enterprise Centre of Expertise, the
Women’s Business Development Agency and
Fair Finance Consortium, the all-day conference is billed as a ‘must attend” event.
Organiser Yasmin Akhtar of Birmingham-based
Go-Woman! said: “We are supporting the best in the field of women’s enterprise. This is a brilliant opportunity to make the most of networking opportunities, to build relationships with like-minded businesswomen, and access all important one-to-one surgeries covering range of topics to help start and grow your business.
“Attendees can also receive valuable business advice from renowned experts. It’s a great event both for women in business and women looking to start their own.
“The conference will showcase six businesswomen who each run their own companies. Along with demonstrating the services of their own firms they will be talking about how women can set themselves up and be successful in business. This will provide delegates with an opportunity to meet women that are already thriving in the world of business and ask them questions.
“The series of workshops will include an interactive session on cost effective marketing where delegates will be given expert advice on how to produce their own marketing strategy,” she said.
“With a plethora of new information channels available to businesses and organisations, there are literally dozens of ways we can communicate our messages, products or services to our clients. This can be a challenge in itself."
Tickets to the event cost £25. More details are available on workshops, speakers and booking are on the
event's website.
