WITH businesses throughout the UK again counting the cost of flooding, Coleshill IT experts are offering Midlands firms some timely advice on keeping their company safe in the face of disaster.
The team at Acutec, based in Church Hill, sees the damage done when companies are hit by major incidents such as floods, on a regular basis - and the difficulties then faced in keeping businesses afloat.
The firm hopes to help companies cope with such unforeseen problems, and ease them back to normality by putting various safety measures in place.
Managing director, Chris Roche, explained that it isn’t just freak weather conditions which put companies at risk, but many kinds of accidents, such as a computer malfunction, which can have a devastating impact on a business’s ability to trade.
“If you’ve worked hard building up a successful business, isn’t it worth a few hours extra work to ensure it is protected?” asked Mr Roche.
“We have planned a seminar offering our expertise in putting together a disaster recovery plan, covering everything from data and system recovery techniques to processes for frequent backup of systems, and tests and drills to ensure your disaster procedures work and are kept updated.
“Floods have brought misery to many businesses in recent years, and we would hope we could offer advice to help others avoid such devastation in the future, not just from floods but all kinds of accidents and disasters.
“IT protection is an area where it is definitely better to be proactive rather than reactive, and we envisage the seminar being essential to all kinds of different companies – to anyone who has a computer, really.”
The seminar is being held at Acutec’s offices in Church Hill on Wednesday, October 8, and will run from 8.30am until 10.30am, including coffee. The £10 fee for anyone attending will be donated to Acutec’s nominated charity, Midland Mencap.
Places are limited and are booked by calling the Acutec admin team 01675 469020 or emailing.
