About the client:
Walsall New Deal is part of a scheme designed to breathe new life into deprived areas of the country and has brought about dramatic improvements in a number of Walsall neighbourhoods. The New Deal for Communities partnership has received national acclaim thanks to its work in Blakenall, Bloxwich and Leamore.
It is a cornerstone of the Government’s Neighbourhood Renewal Programme, which has invested £2 billion nationally since 2000, of which £52 million will be spent locally by the programme’s end in 2011.
New Deal is about regenerating areas by encouraging residents to get involved in decision-making. They are helped by partnerships with Walsall Council, Walsall teaching Primary Care Trust, the police and a number of other local agencies.

LINDA'S piece on why journalists shouldn't accept 'kill-fees' was published by Press Gazette recently - a definite case of 'do as I say, not as I do.'
Staffordshire writer Suzie Harris also featured advice from Linda on her blog all about the freelance life, under the heading: How to do your own PR: Four steps to building your writing brand. Phew a bit of a mouthful there Jones. Still, it appears to have gone down well, with Suzie declaring it "inavaluable to any writer."
