Overview: Our work with Suki’s demonstrates the passion, commitment, creativity and flair that we bring, resulting not only in an enhanced profile for our clients, but also proven business benefits.
Our PR, event management and copywriting services were an integral part of a successful first year for the business, with turnover far exceeding expectations.
About the client:
Suki’s was opened in April 2007 after extensive refurbishment. The former Fallings Heath Tavern had been transformed into a stylish and contemporary bar and restaurant.
We have worked with the owners since November 2006 to plan marketing and PR activities to –
• involve the owners and staff in their local community
• establish the restaurant in the area
• build up a regular client base for both the bar and restaurant
• widen its appeal by promoting the venue to businesses for meetings and events
On-going support has included:
Marketing and PR strategy
We have formulated a marketing and PR strategy for the restaurant that is reviewed on a bi-monthly basis. It includes:
• Initiating and implementing regular marketing campaigns
• Producing posters, banners, promotional postcards, feedback forms
• Advising on and arranging advertising
• Creating opportunities for regular media coverage
• Targeting key food critics to visit and write reviews
• Initiating, organising and promoting events
• Regular monitoring and evaluation
Events
Our first event was a reunion of former pub regulars to launch the bar. We encouraged those attending to bring with them treasured old photos and recollections of days gone by. This instantly created a rapport between the owners and local community, as well as generating positive media coverage.
Next came a launch of the restaurant. This was a VIP charity event which showcased the venue to a wide range of people, strengthening and forging more valuable links with the community. We helped the owners choose a local children’s hospice to benefit from the evening which raised £800.
Greater community involvement
We initiated and implemented further links with the local community by working with a neighbouring primary school where the children were asked to design a children’s menu. The headteacher incorporated this into the curriculum on healthy eating.
Youngsters visited the restaurant, met the chef and had a cookery demonstration. Walsall’s Mayor will present the prizes to the children whose dishes will be served up at the restaurant.
Suki’s are also donating craft items to the school along with a percentage of the takings for every dish ordered off the resulting children’s menu.
This has proved a fantastic exercise for all concerned, forging a long-term positive relationship.
Future initiatives include launching regular family dining sessions, corporate functions and seeking recognition for the restaurant through a range of award entries.
Testimonial
I enlisted the help of Passionate Media before my restaurant opened, in order to put together a detailed plan for marketing and PR for our crucial first 12 months in business.
We have used many of their services, including event management, which helped make a real success of the launch night, marketing, copywriting, proof-reading, and PR. That success has continued ever since and we are delighted that Passionate’s support has helped us tell more people about our business so well.
Passionate Media have excelled in getting us some fantastic coverage not just in local papers but national and specialist publications. This has led to some superb press reviews which have really helped to boost bookings.
The team are always on hand to give advice, and I have been impressed by the friendly and professional way they approach every job. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to another business, whether established or just starting out.
