I'M delighted to report that a recent visitors' day organised by the Cannock and Stone Wings groups proved a huge hit.
More than 40 people turned up to find out more about what we get up to.
The idea of the joint event was to bring together Wings' longest-serving and most recent members, to help give visitors a real idea of what the group is about.
The Cannock group was the first to be set up, and is preparing to celebrate its third anniversary this summer, whilst Stone is very much a fledgling group, having only formed in the last few months.
Linda Haynes, social secretary for the Cannock group, who organised the event, said she was overwhelmed with the number of people who attended, and delighted at the positive responses from them all.
"The feedback was wonderful. So many people commented on the relaxed atmosphere, and the buzz we created, which is something we are very proud of," she said.
"Visitors' days are always a great way for people to find out more about what we have to offer, but I think the fact that this one included two different sets of members, and the different experiences, and enthusiasm that produced made it an exceptional event." [Carol]
